Jude Abudawood

Jude Abudawood is a licensed social counselor recognized by the CDA and a certified EMDR practitioner through the TICT Institute. With prior experience as a Marriage and Family Therapist in Syracuse, she brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her practice. Currently pursuing her PhD in Marriage and Couple Therapy online, Jude holds two master’s degrees: one in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University, focusing on trauma-informed care, and another in Special Education from George Washington University, with an emphasis on emotional and behavioral challenges.

In addition to her clinical expertise, Jude has over thirteen years of experience working with children, orphans, and refugees as both a teacher and volunteer. Her therapeutic approach is culturally sensitive and emotionally attuned, utilizing a holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed method to promote her clients’ relational and emotional well-being.
Trained in evidence-based practices, she integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches, including systemic, humanistic, cognitive-behavioral, and attachment-focused therapies. Jude is proficient in several interventions, such as the Gottman Method (Level 2), Emotionally Focused Couple and Family Therapy, Relational Life Therapy, Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy, Structural Therapy, Contextual Therapy, Bowen Family Systems Therapy, Discernment Counseling, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Additionally, she is certified in the Trauma Resiliency Model, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Havening Techniques, and Attachment-Focused Child EMDR.

Currently, Jude works with individuals, couples, and families. In New York State, she has addressed complex trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, infidelity, suicidality, family challenges, intimacy issues, domestic violence, and adjustment disorders. Her office offers a safe and welcoming environment for all who seek her support.
